Help cancel membership

I have tried for three months to cancel my membership due to financial reasons. I do not know how to do this and get the matter taken care of. I have sent numerous emails to billing but got NO RESPONSE! I can no longer afford the monthly fee. PLEASE HELP ME as the auto withdrawals are STILL coming out of my bank account.

Get one of those prepaid gift cards from like Kroger somewhere, switch your card over to that one, and then it’ll cancel your membership to non-payment. Or just get a new card with different numbers from your bank / credit card. Same end effect

@Team_Admin Any slightly more ethical or effective advice?

I find no emails from " Hristopoulos" in the accounts box.
Did you get a ticket number?
If not, we did not receive that email.

Here is the response we send out (we always prefer cancellations be done by the member so there’s no questions about whether the request is legitimate)

[FIRSTNAME],

We are sorry to hear you wish to cancel, but we understand. The instructions for cancelling are included below, as well as the instructions for signing back up if that should become of interest to you in the future.

Please let us know if we may assist further!

  • Click on Services
  • Click on My Services
This page will list current memberships.
  • Click on the membership to be cancelled.
  • Click the red button labeled “Cancel”.
  • Please then fill out the exit survey (thank you).

NOTE: If PayPal is used to pay for membership it must be canceled separately by browsing to https://dallasmakerspace.org/unsubscribe .

To rejoin:

  • Log in to the billing service with the existing billing account
  • Click Services

Just as reminder. You can teach a class a month, get the honorarium to offset the cost of your membership.

Everyone has something to offer/teach.

Just wanted to put that out there.

This is what I do to offset my costs for membership. Of course not everyone has the time to devote either especially if the space is far away.

Better than this is to use Privacy.com

Makes temporary credit card numbers you can use online that charge your real card, but you can set a per purchase or all time spending limit, as well as an expiration date. Very useful for pesky subscriptions you might forget to cancel

I just remove the credit card from the account. They will say your past due, but it doesn’t matter. That is what I do when deactivating my account.
