Heat straightening?

Could be fun to do some HSS grinding then

You guys crack me up, the threads on the end look to be in good shape, wire brush would clean them up easily. Its only 1/4" diameter, it doesn’t get much easier than that when bending cold. I could probably get it pretty close to straight bending it over my knee. A 10 minute project. The pipe from one of our pipe clamps would work fine on this to get more leverage and control where it bends.

Why spend 10 mins on straightening it when you could make tools to machine the thing from scratch you know? Shouldn’t take more than a weekend.

If we’re gonna go that far, let me upload the pics of the prototype jig to overcome the two dead spots inherit to the 4 bar crank-rocker mechanism that is the base of a treadle machine… It’s built, it works, but currently in the ‘janky as heck’ state.

Or possibly two.

I’m sure we could work it into a Lemons car if we really put our minds to it.

1/4” can easily be bent cold.

Example: This is one end of a four foot long 1/4” s-hook I use for hanging a bird feeder from a high tree branch. Bent cold over a jig clamped in the post vise.

Just waiting on my shots to kick in and I’ll be there!
lol. or if someone wants to get paid I’d be happy to just drop it off today.
