I keep seeing a lot of wood turners on YouTube being sponsored by Yorkshire grit and thought, ok why not give it a try. But yeah, not for $30. I wanted to see if anyone has tried it or has any feedback.
I literally just spent my lunch hour researching what it is made of and in what proportions (and I have a really good idea now), but there’s not enough data out there. Americans seem to use polishing grits in woodworking differently. I might try and just make some but it would be super helpful if I could try the original before I reverse engineer it.
I want to know where you’re going to get the 8 ounces of Beeswax. That seems to be something people have been searching for lately and it seems to be hard to find.
(EDIT: Sorry. That came across snarky. What I really meant is - please share your Beeswax source. It’s hard to find.)
Yep, generally any time you have a mix of liquid and solids in a formula the default is weight. Thanks for chiming in as anyone else who might want to make this may not have known.
@John_Marlow- Nate beat me to it, but that’s where I get mine, and I generally make sure to get cosmetic grade since I make a lot of hand salve. if you want to get it in slightly larger volumes this place is good as well- Pure Beeswax Supplier (White and Yellow) | Bulk Apothecary
A timely polite explanation from PJ Tool & Supply…
The dots are showing that these are still compatible and the stars would have the best results.
More than one compound can be used on metal so the chart shows all the available options.
