I would like for us to do this!
William ( @william_petefish ) brought this to my attention a few days ago. (Thanks William!)
Sorry for the delay in sharing it… I’ve had limited access to a real computer since then…
At any rate, I confirmed it would be OK to print the largest size in ABS (they prefer PLA because of the kiddos…), so I signed as ‘Dallas Makerspace’ to print one (1) 145% Left Hand; and, one (1) 145% Right Hand.
If we happen to have time to print more, then AWESOME!
I’ve poke around with shipping times and I’m pretty sure as long as we ship the parts on or before Monday December 8th, they should arrive by December 11th (they are needed by December 12th).
I spoke with Mitch ( @themitch22 ) about this last night. Both printers were in use at the time; but, he was going to try to at least download the files, slice them using the recommended settings on the download page, and save them to a folder on the Members share. (Thanks Mitch!)
Let’s make a text file in the folder that Mitch created to keep track of which parts have been printed. Any time there is a printer available - let’s get more parts printed!
If Mitch - or anyone else - has been able to start printing any of the parts, let’s continue using the color filament that’s been started. Otherwise, please select a color that we have plenty of (maybe one that hasn’t been getting used as much as expected?) and try to print each hand a solid color.
If we get more than one hand printed, each hand can be a different color; but, I would like for each ‘kit’ to be one color so the devices look better for the recipients.
Thanks y’all!
