HAAS Class Preparation

I am signed up for the HAAS class coming up and really want to make a success of it. I have an interest, but no background in 3D design or CAM. What can I do to prepare for the class? I’m thinking of programs to download, videos to watch… even books to read. Any advice is appreciated.

Learning the basics in Fusion360 would be beneficial.

You can register for a hobbyist / maker license for it. Free for use unless you make some amount ( I think $100K ) from your work with it.

I do already have Fusion360. Should I just use Fusion’s own training videos?

The first part of the training is to draw up a domino in Fusion360. So basic drafting skills in that are what you’ll need.

I expect the tutorials online will be helpful. There is occasionally an intro class at DMS as well.

Any way you can learn fusion is a plus. The more important part you’ll get from the class is the creation of tool paths from your design
