Gauging interest

.I’ve been approached by many members to teach some laser courses. The thing is, the stuff that I do is focused on process and product, so I’d like to teach a series on fundementals then add on higher level courses. By way of example, a course on material testing, honing/dialing in settings, designing in lightburn, adhesives, paint, mixed media, a course on kerf, a course mixed media, etc. Then building those into things as simple as inlay earrings to complex mosaics, quilts, stained glass style art, or layering from social media signs, to larger or more dainty items, holiday decor, etc.

What are some projects you want to do??

I can start there the build backwards. File making vs. file buying, how to identify good designers, why suppliers make a difference (I will be obtaining licenses and discounts for students as well).
I am really bad at social media and my website needs work, but you can see some examples of stuff I do. Large signs and LED “Neon” Signs are my jam. But I think I will wait to cross polinate until we figure out what everyone’s main interests are…dye sub, I’m coming your way…LOL but really, I use so many techniques, I would pull from wood, CA, plastics, dyesub, etc… scorchcraft | Instagram, Facebook, TikTok | Linktree

Ahhh. Process development. A maker after mine own heart.

I’ve got a few things I’d want to try based on work I’ve done before but am currently too busy with several other large projects I’m doing for science. I messaged Burt about this previously but let me go ahead and copy that over to you via PM and see if you might be interested. I think it might acutally be useful to you in terms of enhancing your own work as well.

Edit: I’m not sure if this might be just a tad more sciency than what you had in mind. Might be best to wait until I have time to work on the rest but I was thinking the darkening treatment could be helpful.

I would take your class. Thursday Friday or Saturday!

I would be interested. Especially if you could talk to the material acquisition, cost and kind of selling of products in the process for consistent orders. Appreciate it
