It’s probably not even remotely legal to hit anybody with any consequences for contacting a public official about legitimate safety concerns. I am certain it’s covered by a myriad of whistleblower laws. Of course the best action for the space would be to avoid government regulation and or expense and handle it internally.

That was surely the intent, but that is not the way the rule was worded as passed. There are a number of rules that are not worded precisely.
There is a history of people calling and pestering this FM. This FM has also made some dubious declarations about what kind of things we can do here, several that have absolutely nothing to do with fire safety.
I stand by my statement that if you call the FM FIRST, before trying to fix the problem in house, that there will be serious repercussions. We need to get the woodshop filters squared away, then the necessary permits/inspections for the expansion, before we start rattling the chains for this PITA FM.
I have mentioned this before, We should have a lights out drill every once in a while
Do the first one as control with folks knowing it will happen, with folks that know the space
It would be best to have them in areas that are not their normal hang outs
Then do it again with folks that are newer to the space
I know a lot of folks have flashlights on their phones but a lot ladies leave theirs
in their purse which many not be where they are

If someone goes to the FM with bullshit like a egress blocked by a push cart that could be easily moved (as one non member earlier threatened to do in this thread) then they deserve the scorn of every member of DMS.
We have several cameras covering the area that Nick says gets blocked. We can fix this minor issue internally without bringing in an already hostile FM.
Negative. I’ll stand up for Stan here. Public information is public information and your motives for disclosing it are irrelevant.
If you read the very next thing I said, it is calling the FM FIRST that I’m objecting to.
