Do we have some kind of freestanding vise that could be set atop the drill press table to hold a smaller part?
If so, where is it normally stored?

It is usually located somewhere at DMS, as it tends to move around like a Christmas Gnome. You can begin your quest by the drill press in woodshop. Where your journey takes you is anyone’s guess. Best of luck.

Would a Panavise w/ base work? ELab has some.
As of Sunday it was on the drill press.

Chris is there anything you could do on a drill that you couldn’t do on a mill?
I have a 5" vise made for drill press work and a tiny one about 1.5" that I could bring in.
It’s a wooden part and I know we frown on working wood in Machine Shop.
Thanks for the offer. I think I can use a jorgensen clamp as a surrogate vise and make it work in my drill press at home.
