I got this stereo console with 3 TVs that are of 1940’s-early 1950’s vintage, so it’s likely from the same era. Has double doors that close to hide the fact it’s a radio. Brand is ‘Radiola’. All electronics are gone but wooden case is complete and not broken. Needs refinishing and one of the door ‘handles’ is missing.
Price: FREE to a fellow DMS maker who wants to repurpose it. You can pick up in Little Elm or I can meet you in the Plano area around Legacy & Ave K at lunch or after work.
Dimensions are: 27" wide x 16" deep x 34" tall
Last photo is of one of the 3 TV’s that this came with. The pic is of an RCA unit and it appears to be all there, although the back hasn’t been taken off yet. NOT for sale or giveaway…just a pic for those who appreciate vintage radio & TV hardware
This would actually be fantastic for keeping a CD player and amp in, with a turntable on top and some space for records in the bottom. Color me interested.
I have a 1930 console radio that has the guts and was working 10 years ago last time I fired it up. Pretty rare in that it has dual speakers, midrange and more midrange.
You wouldn’t want to use the turntable that’s mounted in one of those consoles anyway. Typically ceramic-cartridge jobs, very dire. You’d swap it out, for sure.
I think I know somebody who has one (ie, she was making noises about wanting to get rid of it not too long ago).
@uglyknees - it’s yours since you made the first claim. My primary motivation is that it be put to some use other than being sawn apart or discarded. I can’t think of a better or more imaginative use than a marionette theater…do I get a perpetual gratis ticket to all performances? PM me with contact info and we’ll set up a way to make a swap.
I won’t be able to make it to the space anytime soon, but I can put it in my SUV and meet you somewhere in the Plano-ish area. Would prefer to make the swap sooner rather than later, as my storage building is crammed: 3x 1950s console TVs, 2x TI Omni 810 printers (from Fred’s WOW), … …
