Four Arduino Classes on Calendar - All parts furnished

@NickWebb and I are running a series of free Arduino related classes with all parts furnished except your laptop. Total beginners in electronics and programming are welcome and advanced exercises are available for intermediate hobbyists. You will go home with the knowledge, documentation, parts list and programs to repeat the exercises as soon as you buy your own parts. Programs are simple and generally single function so they can be the base for your future projects.

I’m interested in Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi integration into a racecar for data logging/heads up display of live telemetry. I’ve seen a few set ups in other cars, but I’m kind of in the dark on the whole subject. I was signed up for the first Arduino class in this series and had to cancel my RSVP when my fantasy football team set the draft time for 8pm on Sunday. Will you record or repeat any of the classes at a later date? I’d like to learn some about the platforms before attending a discussion. Are there any sites that you’d suggest I digest before taking the first or second classes?

I turned the Sunday class, Arduino: Sensors for Fun and Non Profit, over to @NickWebb. I don’t care to record the classes but we both plan to repeat them as often as reasonable. Our goal is to do intro to intermediate level classes to show folks that they can easily build a circuit, load a program and then learn to modify the programs.

Other teachers also do Arduino and programming classes. I know two people who are planning to develop Arduino related classes. There are dozens of microcontroller subjects that could be developed into classes. I openly volunteer to assist others develop classes in any way that I can.

I would encourage you to research the subject and see what sensors, displays, software,… are being used and get links to good articles. Post all this to Talk with a subject like “Will someone please teach a class on…” We have lots of professionals and serious hobbyists who could do this. Who knows, when I finish a couple of classes I’m doing I might pick it up, Interest in the class would not be limited to race car people. Anyone interested in telemetry should be interested.

@artg_dms - Maybe you can twist someones arm to develop another Electronics class.
