Found a cool maker supply place

On a quest to find cheap metal to make a forge I found a (new to me and not found on talk via the search tool) supply place in Fort Worth and thought I would share!

Repurposed materials 5703 Crawford Ln E, Forest Hill, TX 76119 buys bulk junk and will resell entire truck loads down to individual items.

A few things that caught the makers’ eye:
wine barrels ($100 each),
1 and 4” sheets of insulation
Styrofoam by the box (dioramas anyone?)
55lb boxes of powder coat $165 or best offer (Anyone want to do a group buy?)
6”x8”x 3/16” box beams (6.5 ft for $26!!!) I bought some of this for a forge
Lots of rope, I beams, conveyors, airplane chocks, bowling alley wood, fire hoses, used billboard vinyl (slip and slides!) and more.

Is that rolls of old fire hose? We have a dog toy made of old fire hose, it’s the only thing besides “super hard plastic” that our scissor-toothed dog can’t destroy.

I don’t even know what I would use half of this stuff for, but i REALLY want to find out

The website has some really COOL stuff! A lot of it is in other states, but I’m impressed with what they have at the Dallas location.

I kinda find it funny they call it their Dallas Location even though they are in south Fort Worth area. I know a lot of my Fort Worth customers hate Dallas.

One of them claimed their vehicle would start braking itself when it got any more East than Amon Carter on 183. Obviously it was a joke, well sort of anyway.

Count me in for group buy powder! I hope someone will give me a refresher course.

They have 1” through 4” firehose in lengths up to several hundred feet.

They were very willing to negotiate on prices, and said that the powder had been in inventory for a long time and no one had even bought one box of it so if we made a reasonable deal they would probably move it.

I kept drooling over all the potential projects and he said they rotate most of their major inventory every few months so I’m excited to see what else comes through.

Now if only we weren’t in a global pandemic. This could have been a very fun field trip to do as a group! :joy:

I will definitely be going back soon. I just figured out a use for some I beams and railroad ties so gotta make another visit.

Homemade roller coaster? Please don’t tell me if I’m wrong, don’t shatter my dreams.

I was just in there today and they are fresh out of railroad ties. There was plenty of other cool stuff there though. Just wish I had heard about them a couple months ago.
