A friend is asking for help finding an engineer that specializes in fastener/screw design. My friend is a Maxillofacial surgeon who is developing better techniques for dental implants. He has questions that he thinks such an engineer can help answer.
I would appreciate any assistance in pointing me to such a person, or perhaps someone who may be able to help me find such a person.

Your friend is looking for a biomedical engineer with extensive experience in osteointegration / growth factors / titanium alloy microfabrication. Specifically dental, not orthopedic. Now that is a rare bird and usually composed of a team with a very deep budget… I know of at least one OMS who spent a fortune trying to beat the big dental implant guys with a small group and it went nowhere. That was 8 years ago. Probably a better idea to approach the big guys with an NDA and talk over the great idea before breaking the bank. Chances are that field has already been plowed.
BTW, industrial espionage is a real thing.
