Hello! I’m a new member of the makerspace and I’d like to gain access to the blacksmithing equipment in the facility. I checked the Events Calendar but didn’t see any blacksmithing classes in the upcoming months, so I was wondering if there was an alternate way to set up an intro class. My interest is mostly in knives and swords. I have several years of experience with blacksmithing using coal forges and fairly extensive experience grinding knives, so I wouldn’t be starting from zero. I’d be happy to pay for a personal class/lesson if there’s no interest or time for a general one.

I usually do classes on every other Monday. I will have one posted this upcoming Monday for an intro so you can get signed off on the equipment.

There is now some classes posted for the upcoming Monday and for the first of September for classes on Monday to for intro classes. Might not be on the event page yet though here soon it should be updated.

Unfortunately, the class this upcoming Monday overlaps with a work event that I can’t miss, but I signed up for the class on September 1. Thanks!
