Hey, I took the class before covid and haven’t gotten to do anything with it.
I was wondering if it would be alright to sit in and get a bit of a refresher?
I don’t need to actually do anything, just watch and update my memory.

Thanks!

What is a dye sub class?

Dye sublimation.

I just saw that there’s a class for the 22 but it’s closed for registration already. Is there a wait list?

If you look at the actual Calendar, you will notice that you don’t see the Dye Sub class. That means it’s not officially active. Classes take 72 hrs to be available for sign up.

There are still 5 open spots for the class on the 22nd.

Dye sub (Dye sublimation) is a special process. In that process heat and pressure sublimate the liquid ink into a gas and it molecularly bonds to what you’re dyeing. It only works on certain materials like polyester.

In the case of a polyester shirt, think of it as dying each strand with a tiny color. It becomes part of the fiber unlike a iron on transfer. It won’t flake off. You can make full color shirts, coffee mugs, etc.

@CaryF300 is the vacuum press working?

No, I keep forgetting to come in and fix it. I’ll try to get in this weekend.

Come on out and audit the class for a refresher.
