Does DMS have a planer for 26" tree round?

We want to thin down and flatten a couple tree rounds that are 24-26" around. Is there a machine that will do that? Or should I just do it the old fashioned way with a belt sander?
Thanks,
Scott

This might be a task for the slab mill…

@Team_Woodshop ?

Planer is only 20". I assume these are cross cut cookies with end grain on the top and bottom of the pieces. If any of the cookies were <20" you still could not use
the planer for this as end grain wood is not allowed to go through the planer.

The slab mill would flatten these nicely!

I’m new to DMS and not familiar with Slab Mill. How do I make an apt to bring these pieces in?
Thanks for your help!

You will need to get trained to use it.

First class would be Woodshop Safety & Orientation: Events |Dallas Makerspace Calendar
After that would be the Slab Mill Class: Events |Dallas Makerspace Calendar

Once you are trained, you are able to use to the slab mill at any time.

Can someone “walk in” to the orientation? There never seems to be an available opening for this class…

You can, but if it’s full and there are no shows, the instructor might turn you away. Keep in mind that each extra person for the class adds in about half an hour to the class time, so it can be a while.
