I’ve been getting a pop-up since last night informing me that this page wants to use my notifications (Allow/Block). The pop up also makes this page my active window, even if I’m in the middle of doing something else in another application. Does anyone have an explanation?
Are you using a Microsoft operating system? It is probably a virus. Switch to Linux, and all will be good.
Troll mode off…
It’s just asking if you want to receive notifications of new activity or not. Sort of like if you use Outlook, it is usually configured to have a pop-up when you receive new e-mail and reminders for scheduled events. If you “allow”, you will receive the notifications in your system tray. If you “block”, you won’t. If you just ignore that initial prompt, I’m guessing you will continue to be promoted until you decide to allow/block, according to your preferences.
Thanks. I guess that’s the same as Google Calender. I hate it when my screens switch while I’m typing!
Richard,
I hate it when my screens switch while I’m typing!
I do too, with a passion.
The official computing term for this event / phenomena is called “stealing focus”.
Most annoying.

Mine has been doing it also…and I run LINUX! So it isn’t a virus…just VIRAL! hehehehe
