Hello Josh @Littlepchan ! I have you down. I was too lazy to update actual names, but thank you for noting this. Also, helps advertise what you know! Oh, have you started advertising your June event? That would be great PR for DMS. Thank you!

@Opcode - richard, I have you down. Thank you again! Photography classes will be wonderful. I even found this cool “Build Your Own” DYI camera build for $35. It is 35 mm film, but the cost of entry is low ($35 per kit), and would help people learn the basics. I thought it was kind of neat.

Thank you for the feedback.

I thought that my Illustrator class this past sunday went really well and I was going to try and do it once a month. or more…
I was also thinking a bout expanding the class to a multipart project and incorporating photoshop and other programs to create a cool movie poster or banner…

I wanted to also possibly create a class for Photoshop, Flash, After effects, and Indesign.

While I’ve never personally been involved in producing a podcast, I have a lot of experience with audio equipment, recording, and editing. I’d be down for doing a class on the technical side of podcast production, just as long as you don’t put me in charge of any creative decisions =P

@zootboy - Hello Sean - This is excellent news! We will definitely leverage your expertise. I believe the goal of Digital Media is to facilitate content creation. So it is perfect that you would be able to teach things like field recording, Podcast Recording, etc. The members would work on their own content. Thank you! I will note this.

My availability is limited to the weekends, but during the weekends I’m very flexible in terms of time. Any classes that I [co-]teach would have to be on the weekend. If you want to meet up and talk specifics, let me know a day/time that works (preferably on a weekend). I don’t know how much of a curriculum you have planned out, but I’d be glad to help plan it if you don’t already have one.

@zootboy, Sean sounds like a great plan. I am coming to DMS Saturday to work on a curriculum outline. I get it, I work full time Monday - Friday as well. I know this is short notice, but if you are available this weekend, I can meet you then. If not, let’s shoot for a meetup within the next few weeks. I appreciate the help!

Yeah, I’m available Saturday. Probably after 11AM or so.

Sean, Let’s shoot for after lunchtime (around 1:00 pm ) If that is okay with you.
If you prefer 11:00 am, I can launch my conference line, and we can work via WebEx.

Thank you!

@zootboy

1PM is fine, I’ll see you then.

Confirmed. See you there!

Following up.

I was able to update the slides, and will present at tomorrow’s board meeting. To everyone who has had input, and been involved, please attend the meeting as well.

If anyone has spoken or seen David Smart, I was unable to confirm his involvement. Please ask him if he is still interested in the group, and could he attend tomorrow.

Thank you! See you then…

The Digital Media Committee has been reinstated (hooray)!

Darryl is clearing out all of his equipment by tomorrow (which means we will have very little equipment remaining)…

That being said. I would like to set a launch meeting for this Sunday afternoon around lunchtime (I will provide croissant sandwiches and drinks).

I am checking for interest on the following classes. Blackmagic Cinema Camera, Classic Hollywood Lighting, Audio Recording 101, and Developing your Youtube show.

I will write up an agenda for the meeting, and we can discuss it, as well as next steps.
I am very excited to get Digital Media up and running. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Will you please IM or message me your e-mail address? My e-mail address is [email protected] if you want to drop me a note. I do get a lot of e-mail, so please add “Digital Media” to the subject line.

Also, please join the Digital Media Talk Page when you get the opportunity.
I would like to meet by early next week if at all possible.

Thank you again!

New member here, haven’t even got my door key yet. I’ve used Sony Vegas pro over the last few years in a sports video editing business. I’m by no means a pro at it, but I would say above average user. Everything I’ve learned is from Creativecow.net and Youtube tutorials. I could assist in teaching a class on it, but probably not take lead. I’m still learning myslelf.

@hockeyfreak . Welcome to DMS! Fantastic news. I have you down, and will connect with you sometime within the week. Thank you!
