Hello,
I wanted to reach out and ask if anyone in the Blacksmithing department has any chunks of scrap Damascus Steele? I saw in a jewelry book recently that someone had turned Damascus Steele into cabochons and set them into rings. I’m not sure if y’all end up melting the scrap back down or throw it out.

Scraps of Damascus are probably rare as “hen’s teeth” . Making Damascus steel takes hours of preparation and skill to produce.
You would be better off buying some online.
I do know that some blacksmith’s use their scrap Damascus to make jewelry, Others just incorporate it into their next piece of Damascus they make. Knives are what is most often made from Damascus.
Maybe another blacksmith will confess to having some scrap, but I certainly don’t.
Thanks for the input.
