I’m in the process of retrofitting an old electric kiln to gas, I’m using a kiln shelve for making a chimney inside the kiln to make it a down draft kiln. I was wondering if anyone has an easy way to cut old style kiln shelves the ones I have are 3/4 in thick and are like 40 years old so I’m not sure what they are made. Is there something that the space I can use to cut them?

I would also suggest that a respirator is REQUIRED along with goggles that cover your eyes.
The dust is really bad for you.
