Cool Talk Forum Page (or Talk Score Board)

Hey all you Talkers,
In chatting with Kent ( @Kentamanos ) I was informed a cool page on our talk forums.

https://talk.dallasmakerspace.org/users?order=posts_read&period=all

It is a run down of all the talk users and general info about posts, replies, likes and read stats.

Fun Fact
I’ve spent 5 full days of my life reading talk. aka, I have no life.

Take a glance at the info, it is pretty cool.

Side Note:
I was pleased to see that 3 Board Members are among the most read in our talk system. So for those of you that think the Board are not involved in talk, they are reading. And Board Members thanks for being involved in the talk forum, I appreciate it.

I think the main takeaways are that I lead a boring life, and I read SLOWLY…

You can also sort that page by different columns to see how people members rank for things like Likes received, Likes given, threads entered, posts read, etc…

Was amazed when someone (Kent?) showed me that page a few months ago.

cooooooool, reeeeaaaaaddd thhhhhhiiiiiisssssss sloooooollllly. Really 4 day reading talk, argh!

How does the system determine how long it takes a person to read? I forget about tabs open, or will leave a window up on my computer with a half read or typed message for long periods of time throughout the day.

It’s something done automatically by Discourse. You can try looking through the source code to find out - I’d be interested to know as well.

Does that take a 10 or a 12 MM wrench? :fearful:

I read it at work (until they block this site) often, I need to catch up to @Opcode on article posts…

Nope, just lots and lots of JavaScript…
