The laptops that are sitting on the 3D printers are being cooked and are locking us out. This post is just to inform people that we are cooking the laptops and that something needs to be done about it.
Do you mean they are overheating? The computers should reboot if they overheat, but might crash/blue screen. Can you provide more details?
they are just stopping. The prints are stopping and the computer won’t respond until it cools down. they aren’t blue screening but they just stop working. Trying to give as much detail as I can but that is all I know.
What is the minimum requirements for their use?
Ok, yeah, that’s sounds like they are overheating.
Is it all of the laptops, or just the ones that aren’t up on top of filament spools?
It is the computers over the filament spools.
It sounds like some shelves or taller stands that block some of the heat need to be built. Perhaps a shelf attached to the wall would block the heat and allow an attachment point for the laptop locks.
In my opinion the room should be rearranged so the laptops don’t have to be on top of the printers. I’d be happy to help do that.
