CNC cutter project hardware

My shop is upgrading to a new CNC mat cutter, and our old one is available to become a project.

Currently it is fully functional, but when the new one arrives we are required to cut the power cord and snap the original controller card ( ANCIENT tech, over 20 years old). You would be getting a 40"x 60" working area flatbed (adjustable angle) with working cutting head, servos, etc. You would need to replace the power cord & install a new controller, compressed air required for some clamping functions.

Pick up by 4/10/26 near downtown Dallas, best offer accepted.

Asking out of idle curiosity, but is this a drag knife type machine?

The head both controls the plunge (Z-axis) and the direction of the blade (C-axis I believe), it doesn’t just swivel freely as the head moves on the X and Y.

It uses a blade that is very similar to an Exacto #24.

If DMS decides to pick this up I have an OpenBuilds BlackBox controller I’ll donate.

I for one would use this. Seems like storage space could be an issue

The offer is open to individuals, not just DMS as a whole. If no one takes it it will be going in the trash, so any offer is considered.
