With the space being closed for use for the next “?” I was wondering if the committees had considered using the time for major cleaning and maintenance of the various areas?
To minimize the amount of people at the space the idea I had was not allowing more than one area each day and only 2-4 volunteers.
Just a thought.

They’ve rekeyed the doors and I think disabled the RFID readers.
I presume the only people with access are limited to Infrastructure leadership and other “emergency response” capabilities. (like if water is observed leaking out of a restroom). Hmmm. I wonder if water leak alarms are available…)
As the last regular member out the door last night, yes – the RFID is disabled, and they made sure that we (they) have actual keys that will actually open all the doors. In checking things to be sure the closure went well, they discovered that that was not the case…

So we really ARE locked out, huh?

We as in the general membership are.
Key people have keys that work.
And I think the electrical contractors have access.
Not something you need to worry about.
So, for chairs that might want to take advantage of the down-time for cleaning and/or maintenance, one might reach out to the Board and/or Infrastructure. Probably the Board first.
Probably at Team_Admin.
Already got some items in the pipeline - not cleaning/maintenance though.
Might as well take advantage of time in exile…
Beth’s comment about “they discovered that was not the case” led me to believe that not only was the RFID disabled, but the keys didn’t work either.
Good to know the keys work.
Ah. But they were smart enough to check the keys before lock-down day, and have a locksmith fix the problem.

Apparently not all keys worked all locks.
Locksmith was called to fix that.
And that created the need to change the keys in the knox box.
Which in turn created the need for the Fire Dept to be called and pay DMS a visit.
Keep in mind that you have to have working key to physically lock the door from the outside.
Therefore not “everybody” was locked out.
