Class interest check mushrooms oysters

I was looking at breaking down some of the steps to grow mushroom into a few different classes. So the class that I think we should start with is the step that takes mushroom spawn and mixes it with a substrate to feed on. These would be mixed in bags and can go home with you to finish growing your mushroom. You should have mushrooms in 1-2 weeks. It would probably need to be $5 to cover the cost of the materials. (Depends on current honorarium)

If there is more interest in the future I would be happy to look into collecting the spore and injecting those into the grain bag to make the spawn that could be available at the start of the first class

Interested. Grew some pink oysters from a kit last year but then put it down. Would like to get back into it.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. It will probably be 2 months before the class is up. I will need to finish planning and order materials and I would like to get a successful test run in before I have the class. I can post here again when I have it posted on the calendar.

I’m in yay!

I’d be interested

I would be interested.

I am definitely interested.

Yes! Love me some 'shrooms! I’m interested.

These are the pink oysters I grew from an Amazon inoculated block early this year.

I bought Petri dishes and the stuff required to make media for spawn growing. Will donate to the cause if we want to try starting at step 1 instead of step 3. Fun stuff!

That would be great, thank you.

I have a small mushroom peeking out of the plastic bag. How do I take care of it?

I would make sure it has a little access to sunlight, either from a nearby window or outside. You do something to keep the humidity high, whatever works for you, and it has fresh air flow (being out on a counter or outside).

Pictures always help

I spray with water several times a day. My pink oyster kit had instructions to mist 10x per day.
