Cermark settings for thunder?

I got some Cermark to raster onto some stainless, was wondering if anyone tried this before on the thunder laser and what settings worked best.

@nicksilva did it on the zing for the metal pen classes. He should be able to help.

Does the manufacturer give any recommendations or have any information for other lasers?

They give percentages for a 40w laser, I guess the power would scale linearly for higher power tubes?

Values of lasers at 100% will scale more or less linearly. If it’s like 50% of a given laser that doesn’t help because most don’t have a linear response unless the software/firmware accounts for it.

on my 50 watt ULS, I run 100% 20% speed and 900 dpi resolution on most things.
That would roughly translate to 50% on the thunder. It is a fast machine, so my guess is 10% or less on the speed, and still 900 to 1000 dpi resolution. I would try that on a scrap piece first. If it washes off or doesn’t take well slow it down even more or run it twice.
on the Zing I went 100 power and 10% speed. cheers!

Just noticed it is for stainless. You might have to run it very slow. the more heat conductive something is the more power you can apply.
