Ceramics Needs Attention Shelf March 2024

This thread is for items that have gone on the shelf for various reasons that do not follow our guidelines for glazing and or bisque.
Please tend to your piece by fixing what is needed.
We are also starting to put WET PIECES back on the in progress shelf due to them not being BONE DRY. Putting wet pieces on the bisque shelves is not allowed as only dry pieces can go into the kiln. It also makes extra work for the kiln team because we have to move everything around.

Last night during kiln loading we found that all of these pieces were too wet to be safely fired. The wettest of these were returned to the in progress shelves with notes on them. Please do not put your work on the greenware shelf until it is fully dry, as we will return it to the in progress shelves.

These pieces were completely wet and were returned to the in progress shelf. Please do not do this :+1:

Hey yalls! Kiln team decided to post items on that go on the needs attention shelf directly into the kiln news for the month, seeing how that is the most viewed post and would hopefully allow for all pieces to be seen so no one asks on there about their missing pieces because of missing this thread.

We have made an extra needs attention shelf for items that are wet on the green ware shelf. We will not place them back onto the green ware shelf once they are dry, it is for the owner of the piece to do. This is to discourage any wet pieces being placed on the shelf, as we have been running into half the shelf being wet and it has made kiln members come up to the space thinking the shelves were full so they would load, and they were unable to do so because it is all wet. Please be mindful of our volunteers time as this is 100% volunteer position and we don’t want to add to their plate.

Thank you.
