Used the radius cutter to make the rounded edges. That tool is so useful.

And BTW, kudos for all the great stuff you’re doing on the Sherline lathe.
thank you Jim. I kept thinking it needed something like bearing rollers (which we can still do by reversing them), but that is a good solution. it won’t mar the work as much.
I agree bearings would be better, but this is at least an improvement.
I tried using the center with the original state and it just added a lot of friction and heat to the piece
Here’s a DIY steady rest bearing mod taken from Nick Carter Tools. This was for a Taig lathe but the same concept should be easily accomplished on the Sherline.
