Caution: Pins in the Carpet

All too often, I find straight pins in the carpet. And I often see people walking around in stocking feet.

Y’all be careful out there…

Maybe we should get one of these:

Gun ranges use them to pick up spent steel casings, so straight pins should be no problem.

We have one in Auto.

Doesn’t work when the pins are in carpet. I just have to wonder how those got there.

Vacuuming does not pick them up either. Most of the ones I found I had to dig into the pile to grab the head.

I suspect they fell out of people’s projects or an outside chance they had been thrown into the trash, but they managed to poke through the bag and escape when the trash was taken out. I have gotten into the habit of taking the trash can out as well so that there is no chance of fluids leaking onto the carpet. Also, if I find any more pins, I will stick them into some cardboard instead of just tossing them directly into the trash.

I know this is years later but I just got stuck with one in Digital Media this last week.
