"Can I Turn a 9 sided bowl on a 4 sided table?"

Lathes are so 14th century B.C. I think it led to the demise of the Ancient Egyptians.

You really can’t do much with them now-a-days except turn round things. Try turning a square box on a lathe. No matter how good your skills are, it still turns out round. Like Vanilla ice cream, it’s good and everything, but it isn’t chocolate flavored and doesn’t have Reese’s Peanut Butter cups in it.

So just for fun, I just developed the work flow for designing and cutting a 9 sided bowl on the MultiCam. This might be a challenge as a first project for most people. So you can, if you want, design an 8 sided bowl to cut on the MultiCam instead.
Actually you can design any kind of bowl you want, even with embossed patterns on the outside and inside of the bowl.

The class will be offered for July 11th at 5pm and will show up in a couple of days. It’s part of my Inspired! series. I’m bumping it up a notch, so expect more advanced modeling and production workflows in the near future. These classes fill up fast. Don’t worry, I’ll be offering them on a rotating basis.

Here is a link to the model that I’ll be cutting.

Final complete item picture is coming real soon.

Not sure I can attend, but love the idea. Just clarifying, will this focus on design issues, modeling, and then implementation issues for MultiCam projects?
