Can any committee just create their own social media account or does it need to go through PR or something now?
Draco, I know there are several social media accounts for various groups (committees, special interest groups, etc…). I have not heard of any restrictions or complaints from anyone.
In addition to the 3D Fab Facebook page, here are a couple of screenshots of several groups that pull up on Facebook when searching for, “Dallas Makerspace”.
FYI before you make a Facebook page look at the difference between that and a group (I think they have a few more). I can’t remember the details but I know they operate differently and I remember thinking I wished I would have set up the other for creative arts.
It’s a good way to communicate and share events. Dallas Makerspace creative arts is up to 400 members already. Of that only a handful use it but still … Communication is the key.
