Calgary Gets a New Bandsaw

Here in Calgary, we just got a donation of a 3hp beast of a banndsaw, still awaiting electrical installation.

Can barely wait to see what happens…?worse or worster f/u’s. What’s yer predictions

how many folks do you have capable (or willing) of repairing, adjusting machines. in the woodshop

We have experienced more new members, and we’re geting them trained, but that don’t mean they don’t make naive mistakes.

Any perspectives will be of help! Thanks

You might want to read this other post. It discusses the kinds of things that have been recently added to our training. Other posts in that thread include some peripheral discussion about related bandsaw problems (e.g., logs).

I perceive that one goal of the training was to make more knowledgeable users so that our bandsaws suffer fewer major incidents but I wasn’t involved so that might not be accurate.

From all comments the class has been very well received. Perhaps others can comment …

thanks for sharing.

In light of the fact that you have a “3HP beast”, the section about logs might be particularly relevant to your situation.

Can you post a picture of it?

here it is…

right beside our 14" typical bandsaw!
