Well Tim @TBJK worked his magic along with help from @BobKarnaugh and was able to fix the horizontal bandsaw. the major issue with the speed run-away has been taken care of. The cause may have been someone trying to change the speed with the bandsaw not running. NOTE: ONLY change speed with the bandsaw running. If you don’t know how, then ask someone.
The belts probably need to be replaced (at least 25 years behind schedule) which we will order and replace at a differnt time. At least for now the band saw won’t try to walk across the shop and out the door. The bandsaw blade is pretty much shot. We’ve got a couple on order and will replace it when they come in. I will update the saw from repair to degraded for now. If you take it slow - let me emphasize - SLOW! you can probably make a cut. it just won’t be under ideal conditions.
