Met Mark to learn how best to reduce 1095 flat stock to a knife profile. Band saw with an appropriate blade. Blade in it now…, not sharp enough to meet the need.
Question: do members acquire their own blades? If so what specific blade model should I purchase?
I will be cutting 3/16" 1095 almost exclusively.

CNC plasma cutter is great for knife blanks. Dynatorch classes are held periodically.
Depending on long the blanks are, the Kalamazoo saw may be an option. Needs longer than 6" or so to be held in the vise.
The cold saw can’t cut a profile.
Ah! I wasn’t thinking about the profile, just cutting the bar.
CNC plasma all the way then, even if the bandsaw is working well.
