I’m going to need bore some precise 0.501" to 0.503" holes in 1.5" delrin (not sure yet if a reamer would get to where I need to be), my assumption is that DMS wouldn’t have a boring bar small enough, is that correct?
The final pieces will be either 1/2" or 1" deep / tall bushings, with a precise hole so it can be a bearing on smooth rod. It would be nice if I could bore a bunch at once (maybe up to 3" deep) and then part them off at the final dimension.
How long is your part? The Sherline can handle 1.5" dia stock and we do have boring bars that small. Boring depth is going to be limited to 1.5" however.
I personally have an over/under reamer set that includes a 0.501 reamer that you can use. Chuck it up in the lathe and you are ready to go, no boring bar required.
