Any local recommendations for a 4’x4’ steel plate up to 1/4"?

Discount steel in Saginaw , Fulton steel in Denton, Norton steel, Jorgenson Steel. Metal supermarket one in Plano & one in Dallas. I think there is one in Ft Worth. Best thing is to call around for pricing if that is the deciding factor. They all buy in bulk, they will only sell it for more than what they paid so if steel was up when they bought it, expect to pay more. J & M is another in Fort Worth. I have dealt with all of the above plus more in my past.

Have you tried Dimco for used or new steel?

I have not. I usually like to stay on he outskirts of Dallas, the pricing is usually better.

I found in Rhome these pieces:

  • 32pc 40"x48" 3/16 plate $12 each
  • 14pc 40"x48" 1/8 plate $10 each
  • 11pc 40"x60" 1/4"plate $15 each

All new steel, just rusted from being outside.

Before I could get out there to buy some of it, it all got bought up!

You gotta be fast.

Next time you go hunting for steel, give me a shout because I am looking for stainless steel in those sizes also - - will probably spend $100 at most since I am just starting out.
Are any of the sheets near the metal shop door for sale?
