Advice needed: LED light strip to replicate Neon sign

Very cool thank you guys for the lesson.
I’ve been seeing lots of (what I thought was neon) incorporated into “instagram worthy” interior design little poppy fun things - strange cuss words or neon cut into old fashioned paintings and I’m thinking its this stuff. Some of it is interesting but all of it is not anything you would want into your house 24/7.

Trying to figure out what I want to do with this and how I would work with it.

EL wire would be fine in your house 24/7. It is dim enough to not bother you with lights on and still nice in the dark/low light.

I’d avoid EL wire if you have good hearing. You’ll hear the squeal of the power supply, especially as the wire starts going bad.

The really cheap power supplies do have a hum, the nicer ones not so much. But, if your old, odds are you won’t be able to hear it. :wink:
