I would appreciate it if the power strip on the bench was left on. The radio is plugged in and I hate having to reset the clock. I think that is the only clock in the workshop.
Also, our chairs seem to keep wandering off to join the ‘herd’. It would be nice if they were encouraged to stay in the area.
Why don’t you take a piece of blue masking tape and write “jewelry” on it and put that on the chairs?
CA spray paints things that belong to it with a horrid pink color as well tape and engraving. But chairs do migrate, unless CA buys them they don’t actually “belong” to CA so our chairs aren’t marked. But when we buy the stools for the work benches, they will be marked.
But it is annoying that folks don’t put things back.
The issue with the clock really needs to be solved with it plugging in separately to the wall. Turning off all the power to tools when leaving the area is probably a good safety practice IMHO and pretty much a standard practice at places I’ve worked at.

Better than a separate cord I’ll donate a battery powered clock to Small Metals.
But overall, the Space seems to favor the “Casino No Clocks Rule” … it very easy to lose track of time. Theme song for DMS should be Hotel California.

Since I have ADD, I lose track of time easily. And keeping my phone handy, means that I can get distracted by the internet. ( problem with having a smarter phone). I really do need leave before 5 AM most of the time
I have NO idea where the plug is in that area, we seem to have a multitude of long power strips.
We should make an enormous crazy mechanical clock, a Chronogrammadon or something like that.

A robotic Town Crier that wanders around announcing the time every half hour. Sounds very makery … could be slaved to Chronogrammadon, sort of a temporal minion.

I suggested to Nicole that she needs to plan an art show, asking the various groups to each build a clock. I think we would have a lot of interesting clocks then!

It would be awesome if metals planned a show as well…hmmmm just thinking out loud here.
While I appreciate you appreciating my facilitation abilities - it’s your idea you should make it grow.

What all would I need to do, to make it happen? I would think that this would need a 2-3 month lead time, at least to let the groups decide on a project and make it. And maybe a size and weight limit. Ask that they design it so they can use it in their area?
