3D printed power hack saw

Might build one, just because…

I wonder if that could work as well as a bandsaw, although its much slower.

I don’t know about this specific version, but power hacksaws work very well. The blades are cheaper and easier to replace then band saws, though they are slower.

Not suggesting for the space, but a nice compact solution for home shop.

It would be nice to cleanly cut metal stock, it needs a weight or counter balance that won’t bind the blade though.

Nice design! I agree tgis would fit in in a small home shop. There are a
few 3D printed lathe designs using a Dremel that look like a low torque
home solution as well.

I considered suggesting this kind of device for the jewelry folks when they were looking for a small saw for cutting stock. Then I realized that the proper usage of one of these would be frowned upon for the space, in the same way that we don’t really use the horizontal bandsaw as intended. These devices are intended to lessen your work through slow and steady application of mechanical energy while you do other things, but we insist that is an unsafe practice 'round here…

Cool find on the 3d printed, though.
