Woodshop Swap Meet

It seems like CA and Electronics are going to have a swap meet. See the thread below:

I had an idea. I know a lot of woodworkers have cut offs, particularly hard wood cutoffs, which would make great pen blanks, tops, small lidded boxes. bowl blanks and other small wooden objects. I wondered if the cadre of wood workers would be interested in bringing in some of these for a swap meet? I know I’ve bought, cut, collected or pigeon holed more pen blanks than I could use in a lifetime. It doesn’t mean I don’t still search out more though. I would be interested in bringing some of these to a swap meet. Bring the most exotic or the most unique ones you have and maybe you can swap one of these for someone else’s unique blank.

I’m not suggesting you bring in 10 bdf of some exotic wood to swap here, just cutoffs and small stuff. (I’m not opposed to the lumber yard swap, just not advocating it)

Let’s see who can bring in the most interesting burl, or the most unique blank (like one made of a pine cone, wooden pencils, cool acrylic, etc)

What do you think?

I’ve got plenty of exotic hardwoods I can bring. It will be easier if we’re all in the same room

I scheduled the Interactive room for the 22nd 3:30-5p for a craft swap - you want me to add wood to the same room? Let me know and I will change it

PS thinking about putting a pot luck in at 6:30 so we would need to clear out (which is probably a positive thing forcing people to be on point and also get out instead of collecting)

It has been suggested the at the whole swap meet be schedule, if possible, in one room. Personally I like the idea since it would allow those who have several different things to put into the swap meet to do so more easily. It should be fun. My recommendation is to add “wood” to the swap meet in the interactive room.
