What is the status of the vacuum former purchase

The only major item recently purchased that was fully exclusively by the BoD is for the Vacuum Former, ~ $16.5K with shipping. This is an item that didn’t clearly fall into any existing committee’s sphere (we don’t have a Plastics Committee), but was/is much wanted and replaced a defunct old one. 3D Fab has taken the lead in managing it.

So what is the status of this purchase?

I’d have to ask Kris, sent an invite. I know we were getting ready to order it and had to work out some of the details for a wire transfer for payment. But then the FM inspection happened and a comment he made was “They’d have to be notified of any new equipment to be installed”. apparently this impacts the CO.

This was news to us, we already have two lasers in route.
Kris, was it ordered or did we put this on hold for a bit?

Personally, we had a vacuum former before, this is just a replacement. We are adding one additional laser net. But it’s not like it’s a new or different process.

The electrical work was signed off by the city so that shouldn’t be an issue.

Well, by that token we have had a reloading bench even longer then we have had the vacuum former. No telling what a gubmint bureaucrat is going to want and/or decide.
