Hi all,
I keep hearing people say that there are places on the forum that list good sources of materials. I’m specifically looking for some tool steel to make some stock removal knives. Stainless specifically. Can someone direct me towards the place I can find that information? Sorry for asking a dumb question but I"m new to the forum world and am having a hard time navigating it at the moment.

I suspect we mean ‘on the wiki’ as opposed to ‘on the forum’ but I may be wrong.
I’ll suggest, when searching for materials, starting here, at the materials suppliers category on the wiki:

Among those is “Metal Suppliers”:
https://dallasmakerspace.org/wiki/Metal_Suppliers
which seems to fit your bill, searching for stainless steel, quite well.
Let us know how the search goes, we always like to know when suppliers are good (or bad) to work with.

He has been doing a lot of calling around D/FW lately on this sort of thing, he might have some thoughts.
There was also a knife-making class/demonstration a while back. You might review this post - you might find some other folks with similar interests.
