Open house 9/17/16

Our Open House is tomorrow!

I just wanted to remind everyone of a few things.

  • All of the Space will be unusable for personal projects from 9-5.(But please come hang out and take part in the activities!)
  • We will have a number of visitors. They will all have silver tyvek wristbands on so you’ll know they aren’t members. Please, please, please approach our visitors, be great hosts, show off our space–there’s a lot for us to be proud of.
  • DO NOT block any of our neighbors’ ramps in the back of the building when parking.

Not sure who is planning on getting there early tomorrow but here’s a few things that need to be done if you’re looking to help out.

Lecture hall needs straightening up. Interactive is good to go on the non pinewood Derby side of the room. Common room was in good shape when I just left. If it’s not in the morning, please tidy up.

Put a sign on the Conference Room that says Volunteers Only.

Chair in lobby next to the shelves of T-shirts needs to be moved back into far corner of room.

Check bathrooms to make sure toilet paper and soap is fully stocked.

The normal paper signs that tell what’s happening in a specific room need to be taken down and replaced with the full list for each room. See up above.

Neighbors’ docks/ramps should be coned off.

Waiver systems from the lobby need to be moved to common room. (we’ll be using paper waivers for everyone and then if someone signs up they’ll need to do an electronic one. )

And I’m probably forgetting a dozen things. I plan on sleeping at least 12 hours tomorrow night-- after the After Party. :wink:

p.s. Super huge shout out to the member I just met today (Mike?) who saw that our outside windows needed cleaning and took it upon himself to clean them. The cobwebs were insane. He can’t make it to the Open House but wanted to help out in some way. Hell fucking yeah. Let’s do this for Mike.
