Do we have a Cintiq tablet for drawing? I have a friend who may be interested in joining if we have some drawing tech that he’s looking to use.

There’s a tablet monitor in CA Annex that just itching to be better used. #infrastructure and #creative-arts have refused to upgrade the computer *edited - SOFTWARE * it’s attached to, though, so it’s probably not in its best location. Still, the computer isn’t awful. Just not as consistent as it could be.

It’s running open with a version of Windows 7 even though moving to 10 wouldn’t cost a thing, and also one of the oldest licenses of Adobe Creative Suite at the space which probably doesn’t support the tablet as well.

We have a Yiynova MSP19u, which is a Cintique competitor that we purchased 4 years ago.
19" screen, 1440 x 900 resolution, 4000 lpi pen resolution, 2048 levels pressure sensitivity.

The computer isn’t bad at all. It’s an AMD FX 8350 cpu (8 cores at 4Ghz) with 16Gb of RAM, and a Radeon HD 7700 video card. Not the newest and baddest, but still has plenty of horsepower and elbow room for general graphics work.

I put in a request to upgrade and clean it up, and both infrastructure and the new CA chair said no. I never thought we needed a new computer.

Agree with the hardware statement from @hardsuit. Said the same back when I did the inventory of computers for DM, Laser, and CA.
