For me right this very second…I think it would be interesting if we had a field of experiments in alternative energy and building…solar powered cooking things, that wind based air conditioner, houses made from coke bottles…it would probably look like hippie disaster pile. Cob houses…I’ve always been down with the idea of a cob house.

From what I’ve seen of it on various YouTube videos on tiny houses and other alt dwelling channels, cob is both incredibly labor-intensive and unforgiving.

Wouldn’t it be cool if we built a blacksmithing trailer, self-contained, fold/glide out. So the whole thing only need be parked in the center of a set of 6-8 parking spaces, then, whir-gronk: 4 or so station forge.
I’ve found several examples on the Internet, but nothing exactly like what I’m thinking.

I’ve participated in hempcrete construction. It is a fascinating renewable material - breathable, fireproof, insect proof, excellent thermal mass and acoustic properties, etc.- but we need to be able to grow it here to be affordable. A few states are already experimenting.
How does this grab ya?
