Would anyone want me to teach a class on the VR system?

I’ve been teaching myself to use the HTC vive system in the camera lab, once I become just a bit more acquainted with it I want to teach a class on how to use the design software and run programs on it. Would there be enough interest in the class for it to be worthwhile for me to attempt getting this approved?

That would be great to learn.

There is a class tomorrow on the Vive

Also, it is under Digital Media and not VCC

Yes, please.

I got a flash of an idea for a VR game.

If you have the ability to teach VR design software I do not think you would have a problem filling the classes.

I am registered for the class tonight but am unable to come. I don’t know who is teaching the class but wanted to let you know.

yes please

@errosema Draco is right the htc vibe is a Digital media governed tool and games related to it is a Digit media thing. But if one wanted to learn and discuss VR as a whole, the software and hardware and especially the complimentary AR technology then that’s VCC.

Feel free to post where ever you feel appropriate though.

Or just fully blur the lines with a VR spatial relationship of development code…

I love it. the analyses of Java, C#, or JavaScript code is really great idea. But its a toy until they take it further. It should decompile and do code review and/or do visual programming with an interface that is more simple than a mouse and keyboard and works with long sitting sessions.

I would love some data visualization software. Or be able to create visualization software for visualizing software projects that I am working on.

Check out this for some 3d binary data visualizations … it would be cool to have an app to work with data and originate it and explore it

From a professional development perspective, yes. But from a teaching perspective this is gold. Getting someone new to programming to be able to visualize how many times something is calling a library or potentially see a code loop can make programming a lot more approachable. I also like that they built in the collaboration portion so a senior developer can actually point out a block of code for revision or issue.

This looks interesting in terms of Software Development …

yep, that’s the same thing apparently_wierd posted.

I guess from a training prospective yeah it could be good to visualize how the code is working. But from a daily ops kind of thing I’d still like to see some sort of disassembly or code analysis.

Do any of us know if there’s source code for any of these tools?

That would be awesome!

Once we get the Robotic Arm working … I wonder if we can use the VR to control / program it? hmmm

If we can send commands over mqtt to a RTU then yes we could via socket.io and JanusWeb.
