I see that there are two upcoming woodshop orientation classes this week. Are there any orientation classes on the weekend?
Not typically. What day or time would it be held on?
Okay. I’ll come this week then. Thanks!
Turns out that the woodshop orientation classes are full, and I don’t see any future events on the calendar. Do I need to request another orientation class?
Requests aren’t really required on your end unless you desire a one-on-one class due to wanting in within 72 hours, or very difficult scheduling issues.
Being one of the most heavily attended training classes at DMS, new classes are posted throughout the month. The trick on your end is signing up to a new class before someone beats you to the slot.
Possible future membership…
so how busy is the woodshop on weekdays?
Last night (6-9) I was teaching a class and there was one other member in the shop. The point being sometimes you can get the shop to yourself, but I’m not usually there during the day on weekdays.
I have the impression that weekday mornings are well-attended. Evenings are a bit more random.
Usually later in the day there may be one or 2 others working in the woodshop if there isn’t a class scheduled. Usually I am working on the wood lathe. Sometimes I will have the entire woodshop to myself. I usually don’t see it very busy when I’m there.
You can look for yourself. The Wood Shop is well covered.
I have a class next Friday. One spot left. May have one on Monday depending on a response to another post. Watch the calendar tomorrow.
