Hey, I cleaned up the vinyl storage this morning (go me) as it was looking pretty messy but while i was buried up to my eyes in rolls i found these large (72"x30" and 32"x30") pieces of white with what looks like an almost mandlebrot inspired design on them? (sorry camera refused to show the lines )
The pieces are no good to be used for anything else as the design covers the entire sheet.
Question is, who do they belong to and do they want them. They were covered in dust and on the floor so iām assuming no one, but i figure i would leave them to one side and ask on here
.
Thank you! I had meant to do that after the class but simply ran out of time. Iād roll the white up and leave it as itāll surely get used (I have a rolls of white and black on the way. IMHO if itās left there and unlabeled, then itās been donated and is for anyone to use, but with the requirement that itās PAID for in the box on the vinyl cuter table.
The chairs of CA were talking about a better storage system that would take up less space, which would be great, and iām hoping that in addition to their plan that we can have a portfolio style slot space to keep smaller chunks of single sheets that might be re-used from other peopleās projects (such as printing a 4x4 graphic on a 36 inch wide roll, leaves you a 32x4 inch strip that can be used for other projectsā¦)
Thanks again for cleaning up the area. Looks great!

Well, we did stay rather late after the class
Iāve rolled up all the usable little left overs, those are the ones next to the transfer rolls in the top pic. They should be big enough to go through the cutter.
Iāve also made a small separate roll of āscrapsā. Pieces that are slightly marred or have snag or scratch damage. Those could possibly be used for something, but youāll see them when you visit next.
Would be nice to get an updated storage rack. I kinda like this design, shouldnāt be too hard to make.
Thatās essentially what they have in mind, but hung on the wall. Iām of two minds on the scraps. In general if theyāre big enough to use, then hopefully people will use them up, but at some point it becomes a cluttered mess.
Might be better to have this on wheels i would think. That way, you wouldnāt need to remove the roll from the rack, you could just feed it into the cutter.
Would also be useful if we ever move the cutter. The storage can follow.
Just my tuppence
Nicole @uglyknees and some others have talked about vinyl storage going forward. Probably a rack similar to what your are showing (pole and hook system) only it will be wall mounted and probably only have 4-6 basic colors. Any special colors persons can pick on on their own for their print jobs.
As the various colors are depleted they will they wonāt be refilledā¦
