I’m planning on entering our 240sx race car in an AutoX in April, would anyone else be interested in having an intro class at DMS and trying to get a group of people to bring their own car out to the event?
For those that don’t know, AutoX is where there is a cone course laid out in a large parking lot, there are timers that time how fast you can make it around the course without hitting any cones, typically a course is about 60 seconds. It is great way to learn car control and test out your vehicle at relatively slow speeds. The day is broken into different heats, and you spend part of the day working the course picking up knocked over cones as the other group drives on the course.
AutoX is practically no risk to your car, you might hit some cones, but you can either painters tape up your rocker panels / bumper ahead of time or just buff off any marks after the event.

I’ve been meaning to get into AutoX I’d like to try it with my Mini Cooper. I’d be interested in an intro class.
I’m interested, but I can’t take my car on the course. Can I drive the Lemons car, too?
Sure (that will be max drivers in lemons car, can only have 2). Was thinking of the april 25th NTAXS event at TMS bus lot.
I’d be interested… I used to do it when I had an old 944 Turbo… sadly I sold her and neither my camry (also sold) nor the current Jeep are really AutoX cars.
I can’t really find anything about their tech inspections… Besides the helmet, is anything special needed for the car? I might be interested in running my jetta there, but I am not going to modify it since it is my daily driver (I saw everything not perm mounted had to be removed).
You just have to remove everything from car and remove floor mats, be sure car battery is secure and you have all your lug nuts. Other than checking those things there isn’t anything you have to do to your car.
I’ll be out of town that weekend. Someone else can have the seat.
I know a guy who rallycrosses his 98 Grand Cherokee. You might be surprised.
If I’m going to roll my Wrangler, it’ll be in the dirt, not in a parking lot
When is the event? If the seat is available, I might be interested.
It is April 25th, at only 65 entrants allowed this is a relatively small autox and the registration already filled up
Crap. I’ve been thinking about getting back into autocross. Used to do it a lot back when I still had hair…
