Who are the moderators of DMS Talk and How do I get in touch

How do I get in touch with the moderators? I believe I was inappropriately targeted and I want to see if they will help.

@Team_Moderators pm us.

See that flag?

All you have to do is click it on the post you believe to be an attack… Then can choose the “something else” and plead your case.

It doesn’t take an attention grabbing post to complain about someone.

It wasnt an attack, I’ve been moderating the posts all day.

It WAS an attack. The post I was sent had no mention of the subject and singled me out specifically. Feel free to re reread the post sent to me. It also targets my ability to have an opinion. I want a meeting with the BOD.

Feel free to request a meeting with the board.

Thanks. How do I do that?

And while you are at it… unblock the thread asking how to contact the moderators. That is a legitimate question and thread.

The post reminded you this had already been a drawn out discussion, and linked to the associated thread. It’s a done matter and a rabbit hole we do not need to go down again. It was on topic, and most importantly linked to the prior discussion.

That’s not an attack, that’s preventing the thread from just going out of control again and providing context to the person that asked. It’s better to link an old thread than it is to waste everyone’s time going into it again when nothing has changed.

It doesn’t target your right to an opinion, but it reminds everyone that it is just that: an opinion. No one is required to believe your opinion is somehow a magical fact that allows us to ignore the laws we’ve already talked to the city about. You aren’t posting that it’s your personal opinion, your posting in a way designed to try and assert it as fact and rabble rouse.

In fact, here is a quote from you (can’t do a proper discourse quote since the post is flagged):

I have spent too many hours looking at alternatives just to have people who know more than me… which seems to be virtually everyone at DMS by their telling … tell me I’m wrong.

The actual GC has gone down this road with the city, others have pointed this out to you repeatedly. You have already shown you don’t know enough to interact with officials to get a meaningful answer, and you aren’t open to even begin to accept anyone pointing this out to you instead calling it personal attacks.

You are not a lawyer; you are not a lawmaker; you are not our GC; you are not a chair or member in a particular position of knowing every last drop of VOC used here; you are not a licensed engineer in the subject matter; you clearly aren’t versed in every applicable building code or how to properly deal with government officials.

It’s a settled matter; move on. When it comes to laws that bind DMS, these have to be left to experts who are actually versed in the matter. It’s not that everyone claims to be a bigger expert, it’s that we are listening to our experts. You are choosing not to.

You are welcome to ignore experts and make your own opinion, however everyone else also has the right to point out it’s not fact when you assert it as such

You’re free to email [email protected] however, you are not qualified to somehow magically change what laws apply to us and they are not in charge of our Talk moderation since that’s left to independent, volunteer moderators to enforce the rules. If you disagree with something and have hard information to back it, that would be best discussed with the GC but as the GC has already investigated this matter, and as the original thread shows, you aren’t qualified for it on a technical level which is the only way cities will listen. It’s not the BoD or membership you have to convince, it’s the city.

Regarding your last thread, I didn’t act on any flags myself due to my prior involvement with the subject matter, but from the perspective of mods and admins you are spamming information you have already been informed is inaccurate regarding our legal requirements with the city, trying to argue it to not end or as I like to refer to it as “beating a dead horse.”
A member pointing this out is in no way “an attack” and if it did qualify as one I should point to your posts in that thread would qualify as attacking him.

Lastly, flags take at least a few different members individually flagging a post to activate automatically. Otherwise a moderator or administrator does it manually. Consider this before contacting anyone regarding flags; if the moderators agreed with you here the posts would already have been unhidden.

@Team_Moderators I don’t see a reason for this thread to stay open. The topic was answered already, and I’d suggest we avoid a potential repeat of the prior two threads.
If the member in question wants to file a complaint, they can do that and I’ve provided them the process to do so.
I’ll leave it to a 3rd party to make that moderation decision.
