So here’s my plan. Sunday we will make the fused glass plates. Monday we will slump stuff. Either the glass plate we made Sunday, or bottles. There are 3 small kilns, so we should be good on the somewhat different schedules for the different type of slumping.
Glass classes loaded. Should be available around 8 pm Tuesday.
If you’re taking the glass plate fusing class, you don’t need to sign up for the slumping class on Monday – you’re automatically in.
Your options on the glass plate are: 1. Use my glass - $10. 2. Buy your own glass at Art Glass City, plus any decorative pieces - no $ to me. 3. Buy your own base plate, but use my frit and stringers - $5. Art Glass City gets you COE 90, and that’s what I’ll have.
I’m planning on a 5"x5". AGC sells 10"x10", and 5"x20". Both those sizes are $19.50 with a automatic 40% discount, thus $11.70 or so. I think that she may also sell some scrap glass, but you’ll have to ask about that. Frit and stringers are more expensive. Oh, and those are basic colors. Fancier glass costs more.
Spotted an error in the class write-up – when I changed the size of the piece, I didn’t change the project. My glass is set-up for making flower/garden pictures, not the DMS logo…
